friends.jpgThe past several weeks have been crazy!  We've been traveling for months, rarely seeing a familiar face, but it seems that we're making up for lost time now, trying to cram a visit with half the people we know into the time we have left.  In the past 3 weeks we've spent time playing with some of our favorite friends who moved to San Antonio just as we were leaving Memphis.  While we were there our best buddies from home flew in to surprise Mason for his birthday!  What a party that was!  The following week we spent several days with my parents in Houston, being spoiled by Nan and Papa.  Then we met up with some close family friends who are now retired and are themselves full-timing in an RV.  We went to church and later explored the Mississippi bayou with them.  From there we made our way to the Florida coast where we've spent the past week visiting our favorite neighbors of all time, who moved to Jacksonville just 3 months before we left.

As we prepare to move on toward cities where we don't know anyone I can honestly say, I believe we were made for community.   The lifestyle we've been living is extraordinary.  It offers experiences that you can't get any other way, but it also leaves out things, and the one thing that we all miss the most is friends.  Talking on the phone or e-mailing just doesn't cut it.  Not for me.  Not for the boys.  Not even for Daddy.  These past few weeks have really made that clear.  Many people who live on the road full-time make friends by staying parked for longer periods of time, but our pace hasn't allowed that.  What we have done, however, is deepen the friendships that matter the most...the ones we have with each other.

To our friends on the website, I apologize for getting distracted.  If you had any idea how much fun the people we've been hanging out with are, you'd understand why the website is behind.  It's just so hard to tear myself away from them, and once I do I'm too exhausted to write.  But, now that we're leaving, there's a lot of catching up to do!  I have so much to tell you about...Mesa Verde, Halloween in Albuquerque, Carlsbad Caverns, San Antonio, Houston, Biloxi, Thanksgiving in Tallahassee and St. Augustine.  You won't believe what we've been up to!
