mammoth.jpgAs homeschoolers we are always looking for that "spark", as Charlotte Mason would say.  It's the thing that inspires our children to learn more on their own without prodding from us.  Learning simply out of curiosity.  Digging in the dirt is one of those things for our kids.  Anything in dirt is interesting to them...rocks, fossils, worms, vegetable gardens, etc.  If they get dirty learning about it, they like it.  We were able to capitalize on that interest at The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, SD by attending their Junior Paleontologist excavation program.
